Ralph Dunsmore Romig, age 91, died March 13, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He married his sweetheart, Norma Ruby Denkers, on August 6, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho and they were sealed in the Logan Temple the following May.
Active in the LDS Church, Ralph served as bishop in Pocatello, Idaho and Sacramento, California. He served a mission with his wife to the Atlanta, Georgia Temple. Ralph owned and operated five restaurants in Pocatello and Salt Lake City; directed food services at Utah State University and Sacramento State University; retired in 1983 as director of the Bishop's Storehouse in Brigham City.
His interests included family, sports, outdoors, fishing, reading, and dancing. Ralph served in the army and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, where he received the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife; Norma Denkers Romig, daughter; Peggy Pocock (Richard) Pocock, sons; Gary (Eloise) Romig, Brent (Suzanne) Romig, and Mark (Nancy) Romig, twenty-five grandchildren, and forty-one great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in the LDS Ward Chapel, 160 East 4600 South Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, Utah, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the chapel prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery.
