Children: Lemuel, Loelan, Verna, Dennis, Joe, Joyce, Arnetta, Mary, William.

The McRorey family moved from Mayfield NM.(where vernon and several siblings were born)to Elida NM. when Vernon was about five years old.(around 1909)His dad died in 1921 from an accident leaving a wife and six sons and one daughter.
Vernon being the oldest at home(the eldest son Roy was away in school)Vernon took over the family farming and helped his mother with the younger brothers ranging in age from two to six. Life was hard but in 1926 he married Attie peed,then farmimg for them and his mother making life harder and putting a strain on the marriage. It ended a couple of years later. Vernon,his mother and children moved to Dallas Tx. There they did Various jobs to make ends meet.

In 1929 he married julia Leuschener and had two sons.(She had two sons by a previous marriage)Vernon bought a cafe,garage with living quarters over them and they did quite well.He worked the rest of his life as a mechanic.
He became a licensed southern Baptist preacher and deacon of many chuches.He played the piano and loved singing gospel hymns.He was always active in his church. (HE Took HIS CHILDREN TO CHURCH EVERY TIME THE DOORS WERE OPEN)

In about 1945 he bought and moved his family to a farm near Valliant OK. They soon learned his wife had cancer,she died in 1946. In 1947 Vernon married LaVern Hill,they had nine children,five boys and four girls. born in Prosser WA. Bakersfield CA. Valliant OK. and Petersburg TX.

His life on earth ended in Lubbock TX. He had a massive heart attack.
