Uncle Maceo was born Moses Maceo Collins in Houston, Texas, to Jacob H. and Harriett (McClure) Collins. He did not like to use his first name and preferred to be called by his middle name Maceo. Maceo served in the U.S. Army and was a P.O.W.. He served as Illustrious Potentate at El Hasa No. 28 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Army photo posted here is the one he gave to his baby sister Elva. The photo of him sitting by his piano was taken at his home by my mother.
