Lowell Dixon Brennan, 72, of rural Williamstown died Monday, October 23, 1995, in Keokuk Area Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. Born January 29, 1923, near St. Patrick he was a son of E. A. and Mary Catherine (Kate) Roach Brennan. He married Doris McCollister on May 19, 1945, at St. Patrick. She survives. Mr. Brennan had been a farmer, a molder at Gardner-Denver Foundry at LaGrange for 15 years. He was a Veteran of W. W. II, U. S. Army. He was a member of Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church at St. Patrick and the Herman Blum Post 192 American Legion at Kahoka. Survivors also include four sons, Danny of Edina, David of Canton, Dixon of Albuquerque, N. M., and Donnie Brennan of Columbia; four daughters, Mrs. John (Dixie) Scelsi of Punta Gorda, Fla., Mrs. Steve (Elaine) Miller of Waukesha, Wisc., Conni Brennan of Kansas City, Mo., and Donna Brennan of Canton; six grandchildren; one sister, Collette Dennihan of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother James E. Brennan.
Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 10:30 a.m., at the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church at St. Patrick, with Rev. Michael Murphy assisted by William Cosgrove officiating. A Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Music was provided by Lucile Danker. Pallbearers were, Tony Shannon, Larry Spurgeon, Donald Waterman, Charlie Briscoe, Vincel Bronstine and Sam Wheeler. Interment with military honors by Herman Blum Post 192, Kahoka, was in St. Patrick Cemetery, St. Patrick.
