Robert Edward Nesbit was born in Burgettstown, Washington Co, PA to Elizabeth Nesbit and Edward Brock. He was raised by his grandparents in Forbes Rd, PA, a small coalmining town of about 50 homes.
He joined the Navy at the age of 16. He was a boxer on the USS Coral Sea. He met Cecil Claire Abbott in Philadelphia after he had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the area.
They married in 1950 in the Salt Lake City Temple in Utah. They raised their 7 children in Pitman, Gloucester Co, NJ and have 29 grandchildren.
Robert was a great man, humble, kind and well liked. He passed away in the family home after spending time with each one of his children.
We miss you Dad!
