He served with his regiment on detached service in South Carolina until he was Captured at Raleigh Co. WV on April 4th 1864 and was sent as a P.O.W. to Camp Chase Ohio Were he died at age 25 of a Fever on Oct. 12 1864, He was buried At Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery Columbus Ohio Grave No. 306
