Cpl. Israel Robinson (Also named Robison)
Served with Co.I. 8th Virginia Cav. C.S.A. (also called Kanawha Rangers) during the Civil War of 1861-65
He enlisted May 27 1861 at Kanawha Falls, Fayette Co. West Virgina(This is before West Virgina separated from Virginia)
He served with his regiment on detached service in South Carolina until he was Captured at Raleigh Co. WV on April 4th 1864 and was sent as a P.O.W. to Camp Chase Ohio Were he died at age 25 of a Fever on Oct. 12 1864, He was buried At Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery Columbus Ohio Grave No. 306
