GASTONIA - Clara Ophelia Fletcher Givens, 90, of 1770 Oak Hollow Road, formerly of 209 South Weldon Street, died, May 5, 2010, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Gastonia, daughter of the late John Elonzo Fletcher and Ida Sheppard Fletcher.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with Dr. Buddy Pigg and the Rev. Dale Lawing officiating. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service and after the service in the Club House at Ferrington Place, 1100 Surry Lane, Gastonia.
Ophelia was a homemaker, member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews and a former member of Loray Baptist Church in Gastonia and was active in the Nursery ministry at Loray for over 32 years.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James E. "Jim" Givens of Lowell, Charles A. "Chuck" Givens and wife Jamie of Matthews, Kenneth M. Givens of Indian Trail, Robert D. Givens and wife Debbie of Gastonia, daughter, Ruby G. Hudson of Anderson, Indiana, grandchildren, Lynn, Susan, Tisha, Melanie, Todd, Angela, Michael, Ryan and Benji, great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Madison, Taylor, Ashleigh, Brandon, Blake, Ryan, Josh and Riley-Brooke brothers and sister-in-laws, J.E. Fletcher, Arthur and Mary Fletcher and Mary Ruth Fletcher all of Gastonia, sister, Margaret F. Oakley of Old Hickory, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Alfred Givens.

5. Robert Douglas Givens who married 1st Connie -- and had son Todd. He married 2nd Deborah Lutz who had a daughter Angela Lutz. Debbie was the daughter of Ralph and Doris Lutz.
