"Johnnie Boy" as he was known to his cousins, died suddenly of a massive heart attack. He left behind a wife, Gloria Baird and three young sons, Johnnie, Mark and Chuckie.

Johnnie came to Phillipsburg as a young man. He had one sister, Louise Ghetti. His family previously lived in Paterson, NJ. They moved to Phillipsburg when his Uncle bought the Sanco Piece Dye Works on Stockton Street. It was just after the war and people needed work. They flocked to Sanco to get jobs as did many family members.

Johnny was just home from the military where he served his country faithfully. Everyone was so proud of him for being such an honorable American hero.

He went to work for his uncle, along with his father and his sister Louise. Johnny drove trucks loaded with fabrics to the buyers.

He joined the John Dolak American Legion Post in his home town and was very active in its work. He got involved with the P.A.L Little League where his boys played football.

Johnny had three sons when he was a little older then most. He was such a great father to them. I can still see his smiling face when he was with them. No wonder we all loved him so much! He was such a great guy! He left us far too soon.
