A 60-year old ironworker from West New York, New Jersey, Mr. Cashman also taught welding at the Metal Lathers Local 46 night school to help young apprentices. In the early 1960's he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division's Screaming Eagles. William was a passenger on the ill-fated United Airlines flight 93 that was hijacked by terrorists on September 11, 2001. He was traveling with his best friend, Patrick Driscoll, on a trip to California to go hiking.
