Emerald (aka John) was born to William Harold & Artha Arlene Johnson. Older brother to Harold Lee, Carrie & Dale.
Father to 8 kids, John, Tony, Bob, KC, Mary, Jim, Trish & William. Grandfather to many.
Dad had an amazing sense of humor, always able to bring a smile to your face with one of his embellished stories. He loved to play his guitar and sing until his fingers couldn't play anymore.
When Dad got sick he knew his time was limited but he never once gave up, instead he fought for every breath he could get. He always loved getting visits from his kids and spending time with his grand-kids who he cherished more than anything on this earth.
Dad continued to travel until his illness made it impossible for him to do so. He spent his final years in San Antonio, TX where he is now laid to rest.
On the morning of October 20th, 1994 dad took his last breath on earth with his wife and kids at his side. He fought a long battle with lung cancer that ultimately took his life much too soon.

Dad was USN Retired, having served during the Korean & Vietnam Wars.

Dad, I have never forgot "There's always the good memories" for those are the only memories I have of you.

We love and miss you Dad.
