Grandpa was the youngest of 6 children. He attended elementary school in Parker, high school in St. Anthony, and college at Utah State University. During World War II he taught airplane mechanics. At the Logan, UT, LDS Temple, on April 27, 1945, he married Cleo Williams. They settled in Parker, where they lived for the next 50 years. Two children were born of this union: my uncle Jon in 1946, my father Herb in 1948. With his 3 brothers, Grandpa raised beef cattle. In later years he raised chinchillas and made various things out of rocks, including clocks, belt buckles and bolo ties. Shortly after his and Grandma's golden wedding anniversary, he died in his sleep at his home.
