Dick loved acting, he began performing at age 8 when he sang at a Glendale radio station. He served in the U.S. Army as an Artillery Tec 5, at the Alaska Command during World War II. After his service time he received a BA degree from Pomona College and teaching credentials from USC. For the next 27 years he was a teacher for the El Monte School District, California. He was also a drama instructor for the El Monte Recreation Department. Dick performed and appeared on stage at the original Gallery Theater in Ontario, Griswolds Old School Stage House, Circle N Theater and Place Theater in Claremont. He was an honorary 30 year member of the Claremont Church of Religious Science. His hobbies included gardening, spectator sports and body surfing. He is survived by 2 sons, 4 daughters, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
