Mildred (Carmela) Brenna was born, at home at 221 East 97th Street, New York City, to Italian immigrant parents, Joseph and Angelina Brenna in Harlem, New York in 1907. She was one of 7 children. She married Rocco J. Scalone and raised three children, Carolyn, Ronald, & Victor in Jamaica Estates, Queens, New York where she resided for over 54 years. Holidays were always celebrated with family and her home made raviolis and assorted Italian dishes. She was a tireless homemaker, like most women of her generation, never doing enough for the ones she loved. Mildred had 7 grandchildren. Always outgoing and generous she was a credit to her community. After the death of her husband in 1985, she moved to Port Jefferson, New York in 1986. She passed away quietly in her sleep on March 14, 1986.
