Letty nació en Arroyo, Puerto Rico, la hija mayor de Juana Olivencia Espada y de Ramón Soltero Gelabert. Tuvo tres hermanas y tres hermanos.
Era una niñita excepcionalmente bella que creció para convertirse en una belleza, sin embargo, a pesar de su belleza, nunca se consideró realmente bonita físicamente. A pesar de haber tenido una niñez muy triste y muy difícil, ya casada y con hijos logró reconectarse con su hermana, la cual había perdido cuando ella tenía solo 4 años y su hermanita 2 años. También para esa época logró reconectarse con su medio hermano Ramón, lo cual llenó su vida de felicidad desde ese momento hasta su muerte.
El 13 de diciembre de 1947 se casó con Elí Beléndez García y tuvieron 5 hijos: Iris Leticia, María del Pilar, Leilani, Elí José y Eva Beléndez Soltero. Adoraba a sus 6 nietos, Mariano Elí, Roberto Elí, Leilani Annette, Elí Mariano, Daniel Alberto y Omar Elí, quienes siempre la hacían reir. Se sentía muy orgullosa de sus 6 bisnietos Salvador, Gabriela Anairis, Sofía Katerina, Marianito, Anthonio y Carlos. Después de su muerte Omar, su nieto menor, tuvo dos hijos más, sus bisnietos Omar Zachary y Castiel Martínez Beeler.
Mamita, como la llamábamos, siempre tenía una palabra amable para todos y le encantaba ayudar a las personas necesitadas. Me enseñó muchas lecciones valiosas, como ser amable con todas las personas y a amar y cuidar a los animales, especialmente a los que necesitaban ayuda.
Tristemente, desarrolló Alzhheimer en la vejez y fue muy, muy triste ver como se deterioraba lentamente. Sin embargo, y a pesar de empeorar lentamente, su belleza física permanecía intacta.
Aunque sabemos que ya no sufre mas y que ahora está feliz y en paz, la echamos muchísimo de menos.

Sadly, she developed Alzheimer in her late years, and it was very sad to watch her slowly deteriorate. And yet, in spite of her decline, her beauty remained intact.
Even though we know she doesn't suffer anymore and is happy now, we all miss her very much.
