My maternal grandmother. I was born on her birthday.

Eighth of 11 children born to J. A. Quitman Palmer b. March 10, 1848 and Elizabeth Belle Barr b. June 23, 1851.

Maternal grandparents: Allen E. Barr b. August 28, 1811 and Jane Palace Campbell b. May 3, 1820.

Paternal grandparents: John Houston Palmer b. March 28, 1816 and Eliza Jane Terry b. December 22, 1821.

Married Robert Edward Brewer on March 21, 1908 in Altus, Oklahoma. The couple had two children: a daughter, Emil, and a son, George.

Blanche was an office nurse for a physician for many years prior to starting a career as an artist. She taught oil painting and maintained a studio in her home for more than 50 years. She received recognition for a technique using oil paint on glass, a method designed to give greater depth and intensity to floral subjects.

During her lifetime she lived in a number of places including Center City, TX; Elmer, OK; Wichita Falls, TX; Dodson(ville), TX; Plainview, TX; Glazier, TX; White Deer, TX; Memphis, TX; Wellington, TX; Canyon, TX; Amarillo, TX; Pampa, TX; and Elida, NM. She spent the last 26 years of her life in Lubbock, TX.
