Isaac Henry Martin was the son of Joseph Martin and Stacy Sprinkle. He had six siblings: Elizabeth Ann, Fanny C., Jonathan, Louisa, John Jarvis and James Asbury Martin.

"Ike" is buried next to his wife, Lettie Gunther and son, J.A. Martin. His daughter, Elizabeth N. Martin and her husband, George A. Miller, are also buried at this cemetery.

Ike's particular Civil War unit was used as guards for the Union prisoners at Salisbury, North Carolina. He was captured 3 days after the War ended on April 12, 1865 and taken to Camp Chase, Ohio where he himself was a prisoner of War. He enlisted in the Confederate Army at age 17 on November 1, 1864.
