Petty Officer, 2nd Class, US Naval Reserve, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14, Alpha Company, of Jacksonville, Florida. He was killed along with four other SeaBees in a mortar attack in Ramadi, Iraq. He lived in Orlando, Florida, but was a former resident of Wapello, Iowa, graduating from Wapello High School in 1985. Before enlisting in the Naval Reserve, he served from 1986 to 1992 as a Navy communications specialist and diver.
