Wingfoot Air Express Crash

On July 21st, 1919, the "Wingfoot Air Express," an airship owned by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, caught fire in midair and crashed through the skylight of the Illinois Trust & Savings bank at LaSalle Street and Jackson Boulevard in Chicago. The airship was being used to transport people from Grant Park to the White City amusement park.
