Mrs. Mable Belle Edwards Whitehead, 63, of Steele, died July 21, 1991 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. Born March 12, 1928 in Marshall County, Miss., she was the daughter of George Kelsey and Clara Belle Allen Edwards. She was a housekeeper at River Oaks Nursing Home and a member of The Wesleyan Church in Caruthersville.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Whitehead of Steele; five daughters, Marsha Morrison of Kennett, Denise Wheeler of Hayti, Judy Crites of Wadsworth, Ohio, Brenda Lucas of Rector, Ark., and Rhonda Whitehead of Steele; four brothers, Gene and Junior Edwards, both of Blytheville, Glenwood Edwards of Texarkana, Texas, and Wayne Edwards of Texarkana, Ark.;four sisters, Elezene Gee, Pauline Reed and Jeanette Smith, all of Blytheville, and Maxine Richardson of Texarkana, Ark.; and 15 grandchildren.
She was peceded in death by a son, Willie Dean Whitehead.
Services were July 23 at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery.
