Longtime resident of San Luis Obispo, Evangeline (Nelson) Towle, died Monday, April 30, 2012.
"Vangie" was born in New Ulm, Minn., in September 1922 to Martin and Maggie Nelson. She was the youngest of six children and grew up on a farm in Gibbon, Minn.
Vangie was married to Burkely Towle for 67 years. She was a homemaker, who always put her family first.
Her adventurous spirit made growing up in the Towle home entertaining and fun. She was always thinking of new things to do, from playing password at the dinner table to having water fights in the yard that extended into the house.
Her good nature resulted in her never getting mad after feathers everywhere from a pillow fight in the living room or having shredded her raincoat after using it to slide in the mud.
Life was too much fun to worry about the little stuff.
