Mary Black, 85,of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, November 28,2004, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Black was born December 15,1918, in Cass County, Texas. She was a member of Texas PTA and Unity Baptist Church. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Herman Black, in February 1997. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Linda Black and Bobby and Sarah Black of Texarkana; one brother, Bennie H. Duck of Wake Village, Texas,; five grandchildren, Dr. Scott Black, Susan Maynard, Stephanie Riddle, Joe Black, and Jon Black of Texarkana; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, with the Rev. John Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Bobby and Sarah Black on Warren Thomas Road. Texarkana Daily Gazette, November 30,2004.
