Carl Wade Corley Sr., 65, Newnan, died May 14, 2001. He was born March 8, 1936 in Cataula, Ga. He received his master's degree in education from the University of Alabama. He had served 30 years in the Coweta County School System, 10 years as an elected official on the Coweta County Board of Education, had received the key to the city of Moreland, was a member of the Golden K. Kiwanis Club and the Civitan Club. He had retired as principal of Moreland Elementary school after 18 years of service.

Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. O. Eugene Tyre and the Rev. Don Helms officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Corley, Newnan; a son, Carl Wade and Heather Corley Jr., Sharpsburg; a daughter, Katie Corley, Newnan; and a brother, George A. Corley, Columbus, Ga.
