Harold was born to Harold and Oletha Bridges in Knoxville, Iowa on June 8th, 1944. He attended San Diego City College where he earned an Associate's Degree. He worked as an Automotive Machinist for over 30 years. After a career change, Harry went to work for the City of Poway in the Landscape Maintenance Department and was assigned to Lake Poway for most of his tenure. After retiring from the city, he spent his time as a dog trainer where he trained labrador retrievers to be hunting dogs.

In earlier years, he played football for Kearney High and City college. He was a fan of drag racing and raced his own dragster with his brother Jim and friend Don Irvin. He was an avid hunter,especially of Upland Game Birds and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, world leader in wetlands and water fowl conservation.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Geraldine Bridges of Poway, CA.; Father Harold Bridges Sr. of Julian, CA.; Sons and Daughter's-in-law William & Shell, Scott, and Lee & Amber.; Septdaughter and her husband, Gina and Mathew Fischbach; Brother and sister-in-law James & Kay; Sister and Brother-in-law Luella & Marc Salter; Sister-in Law Cathleen Merriman and her husband Nanzetta; and grandchildren, Jimmy, Wyatt, Asher, Mareebel and Bralee. Many uncles, aunts, cousins nieces, and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his sweet dog, Toots.
