PULASKI — Bertie Chrisley Whittington, age 88, of 1017 Newbern Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at Pulaski Community Hospital.

Born Jan. 16, 1911, in Wythe County, she was the daughter of the late James B. Chrisley and Betty Warner Chrisley.

She served God faithfully for 63 years.

She is survived by her husband, Palmer Lloyd Whittington of Pulaski; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Lou and Richard L. Burchett of Atlanta, Ga.; and one sister, Bethel Sexton Baltimore, Md. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Debbie B. Moore, Rhonda B. Ellis, and Richard Terry Burchett; and two great-grandchildren, Bethany Ellis and Jon Paul Ellis, all of Atlanta, Ga.; and by seven nieces and six nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. from the Bob White Blvd. Church of God with the Rev. Robert Owens and the Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Interment will follow in the Virginia Conference Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Dublin. Visiting will be any time Wednesday after 4 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
