Estherville – Services for Calvin Caywood, 92, of Estherville, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Andreasen officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1995 at Good Samaritan Center in Estherville,
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born Feb. 15, 1903 at Cumberland, Ia. the son of John and Cora (Sebring) Caywood and attended country school in Cass County, Ia. He married Meta Marie Gades on Oct. 30, 1928 at Swift County, Minn. Following their marriage the couple lived several places before moving to Estherville in 1942. He worked as a foreman for the Hill Packing Co. for 20 years. Later as a custodian and part time bus driver for the school. He retired in 1968. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville,.
Survivors include his wife, Meta, of Estherville; daughters: Mrs. Jack (Charlene) Nommensen, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Donald (Christell) Long, San Diego; Mrs. Marlon (Yvonne) Stearns of Oelwein; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and one brother, Paul Caywood of Eastpointe, Mich.
