GREENSBORO — Mrs. Ruth Melvin Armstrong, 83, died Friday, September 21, 2007, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, at First Moravian Church. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Armstrong was born May 23, 1924, in Greensboro, N.C., to the late Samuel Oscar and Bessie Price Melvin. She worked for Burlington Industries, as an administrative secretary. She was a member of First Moravian Church and a member of the Myrtle Rebekahs (Odd Fellows). She also attended Woman's College (UNC-G).

Mrs. Armstrong was married to Oscar E. Armstrong who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three children, daughter, Carolyn Henley and husband, Michael of Greensboro; sons, David Armstrong and wife, Sharon of Elgin, S.C., Kenneth Armstrong and wife, Gina of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Monday, September 24, at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.

Memorials may be made to the First Moravian Church, 304 South Elam Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403.
