HAYDEN, Ala. — Eva Lillian Childers Pack, 96, of Hayden, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007.

She was a resident of Crab Orchard for 65 years. She was a longtime member of Crab Orchard Church of the Brethren and was employed for several years at Beckley Hospital. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and treasured friend as well as a wonderful cook and gifted homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Childers; husband, Arthur Pack; son, Jesse Lee "Buck" Childers; son-in-law, Evertt Lee Taylor; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Childers.

Survivors include daughters, Maxine Childers Taylor of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Mary Childers Peters (Bobby Joe) of Warrior, Ala.; grandchildren, Donald Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Carla McAndrews, Teresa Moses, Douglas Taylor, Robin Peague, Nancy Williams, Melody Banks, Debra Little, Ramey Peters and Karen Moore; 19 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of the Pack family.

The family will receive friends noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Kelley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

A very special thanks to the staff of the Heartland nursing home, the staff of the Jacobs House and Family Comfort Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion during the last months of her life.
