Our darling wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother transitioned to her home in heaven on Thursday, November 1, 2012 surrounded by her loving family after a 10 month fight with Lymphoma. Hazel was born August 5, 1930 in Ferndale, Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Lillian Lovaas. She and Calvin Kring, were married on October 26, 1951. Hazel was very active with her church family as a member of South Church of the Nazarene since 1947. She served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, spiritual team leader, and in any other area she was asked. She strived to point all who knew her toward Jesus. Hazel worked for Aldinger Direct Mail Advertising for 24 years, retiring in 1992. Surviving to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 61 years, Calvin, 3 daughters, Susan (Richard) Bellah , Eaton Rapids, Deborah (Timothy) VonEitzen, Vicksburg, Dawn (Brent) Ralston,Lansing. One son, Jonathan (BethKring, Clinton Township, and Daughter-in-law, Suzanne Kring, Vicksburg, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Barbara (Don) Kugel, Patricia Canady, Nancy (Bill) Houston, all of Lansing, and Marilyn (Jim) Brillhart, of Kentwood and o ne brother, Roy (Jackie) Lovaas. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Kring, her parents, and three brothers, Tom, Leonard, and Jack Lovaas. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, with the Rev. Dr. Larry McCain officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of Hazel Kring to Indian Lake Nazarene Camp, 8258 Victory Street, Vicksburg, MI, 49097, or Robert Kring Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Ill. 60901. Hazel's family would like to extend eternal thanks for the outstanding care she received from Holt Senior Care & Rehab Center and the Great Lakes Hospice staff.
