JAMES F. BARNES DIED NEAR SAREPTA MARCH 29 -- BURIAL AT
SAREPTA

Mr. James Franklin Barnes, age 81, passed away at the home of his nephew, Mr. Topha Jenkins, near Sarepta, on Thursday, Mch. 29. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.

He had lived his entire life in and around Sarepta, having been born there June 14, 1880, the son of James Henry Barnes and Nannie M. Clark Barnes.

Mr. Barnes had a wide circle of friends, who regarded him as a good man and a worth-while citizen. His reputation was good and he lived an honest and decent life, and was an asset to his community and the country.
Funeral services were held from Sarepta Baptist Church on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 A.M. Rev. D.C. Hartley officiated. Interment followed in the Sarepta cemetery. James E. Cook Funeral Home, Bruce, was in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were Arthur Wilkins, Tophia Jenkins, Joe Grist, J.H. Barnes, Richard Mcknight and Henry Barnes.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. George Jenkins, of Route 1, Bruce.
