Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Ashcraft, 80, a former resident of Davenport, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Gill Memorial Home, Wilton. Mrs. Ashcraft died early this morning at her home, 311 1/2 Cedar St., Wilton.
Officiating at the service will be Rev. Thomas F. Lee. Burial will be in the Oakdale cemetery. Visitation will begin at 7 o'clock this evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ashcraft was born July 26, 1893 in Rock Island, the daughter of Henry and Sarah Sutcliff Holdorff. She and her husband, Ed Hinchcliffe owned and operated the Brady St. Triangle bar in Davenport for many years.
On Oct. 4, 1948, she married Ivan Ashcroft in Muscatine. She was a resident of Wilton for the past 25 years. She was of the Christian faith and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Tom (Sharon) Snider, Wilton; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
