VESTER L. BARNES
RICHMOND – Vester Lee Barnes, 4722 Weistar Road, died today in Richmond.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Gibson Barnes; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Cox, Mrs. Christine Clemons and Mrs. Hester Johnson of Richmond and Mrs. Eva Joyce of Danville; seven sons, Leslie L., E. Harold, Henry W. and Charlie A. Barnes, of Richmond, J.B. Barnes of Charlotte, N.C., Sr. Master Sgt. Chester Barnes, Langley AFB, Hampton, and Leonard E. Barnes of Martinsville; one sister, Mrs. Eula May Young of Spencer; a brother, Jim F. Barnes of Tampa, Fla.; 39 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The body is at Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Road, Richmond, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
