From a journal entry of Julia Ann Wilbur (1815-1895) dated August 1862: She went to visit her old friend, Mrs. Carpenter in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Julia goes on to say that she is the namesake for Julia Wilbur Fanning. Apparently Mrs. Carpenter and Julia Wilbur were close while growing up, and this is probably why Mrs. Carpenter named her daughter after Julia. Note: Mrs. Carpenter is Abigail Lacy, the mother of Julia Wilbur Fanning. Abigail Lacy m1 Fanning m2 Carpenter. (source: fag member #46930153)
