George Eugene Mitton, age 42, of West Lafayette, passed away at 1:37 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born March 30, 1970 in Indianapolis, he was the son of George W. Mitton of Lafayette and the late Linda L. (Duffey) Mitton. He was a graduate of Stratford Career Institute.
George married Angela Griffin on April 20, 2007 in Lafayette and she survives. He worked at TRW for 4 years making steering columns, CNC Machines, and Wabash National as trailer painter. He was a member of ABATE and HOG. He enjoyed riding his Harley, RC cars, amusement parks, and fixing cars. He was a handy man.
Surviving with his wife and father are his two children, Matthew Mitton and Nicholas Teel both of Lafayette, and four siblings, Mary Ciampanelli (husband, Perry) of Lafayette, Jamie Mitton (wife, Jennifer) of Dayton, Brenda Reece (husband, Mike) of Attica, and Robin Killian of Lafayette, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his aunt Carolyn Lively, uncle Luke Mitton, and a cousin Howard Lively.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
