Donald Joseph Stevens, 94, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown.

Born March 11, 1918, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George Washington and Hazel L. (Rudisill) Stevens.

Mr. Stevens retired with 43 years of service as a sheet-metal worker from Fairchild Corp. in Hagerstown.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 in Hagerstown.

He was an avid bowler of many leagues for more than 50 years, including Fairchild, Men's Minor, St. Paul's, Sunday Night Flying Eagles and Senior Citizens.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon K. Seal of Hagerstown; one son, Donald J. Stevens Jr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Jane Price of Smithsburg; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Katherine G. (Hose) Stevens; a son, Thomas L. Stevens; two sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received one hour before services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
