HARLEY W. CLARK
HARLEY W. CLARK 82 years of age of Jolo, WV passed away Thursday, September 2, 2004 at his home. Born in McDowell County, WV December 27, 1921, he was the son of the late Jesse Ben Clark and Elizabeth Curry Clark. He was a lifelong resident of McDowell County,WV, U. S. Army Veteran who served in the 304th Airborne Squadron, was of the Christian Faith, a retired Coal Miner and loved bluegrass music.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife on June 16, 2003: Clara Pruitt Clark; five sisters: Marie Fletcher, Patricia Greene, Audrey Martin, Edith Fialkowski and infant sister and two brothers: Virgil Clark and John Dillard Clark.

He is survived by five daughters: Betty Stacy and Brenda Stacy both of Jolo, WV, Hilda McDaniels and Stella Taylor both of Archdale, NC, Jane Harvey of Ramseur, NC; three sons: Leon Clark, Harley Clark, Jr. and Roger Clark all of Jolo, WV; five sisters: Ruby Bolen and Hazel Dunford both of Lanexa, VA, Alpha Taylor of High Point, NC, Theodosia Weakland of Fort Pierce, FL and Opal Barreniou of Georgetown, SC; special caregiver: Betty Jo Hagerman. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Harley W. Clark will be held Sunday, September 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Church of the Living God at Jolo, WV with Reverends: Mack Rife, Herman Day and Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Puckett-Mullins Cemetery at Raysal, WV.

Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Great-Grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the Community Church of the Living God Saturday evening after 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by Sandy River American Legion Post #175 of Ieager, WV.
