1945 - Mentioned in his Uncle Frank Wilcox's obituary: Feb 2, 1945 --- Corry Journal

"There are also four nephews and three nieces ... Blair Sheely [brother] now serving in the Pacific in the Navy and JACK SHEELY with the Marine Air Force ..."

Mr. John H. Sheely of Atlanta passed away on Monday October 22, 2012. Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, he was a retired Supervisor for Southern Bell. He was an aviation and sailing enthusiast. He was a member of the Bell Aero Flying Club, the Navy Flying Club, and the Silver Wings Fraternity. He was an active member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church and Friendship Sunday School Class for 57 years. He taught older youth Sunday School and was a Methodist Youth Fellowship Counselor. He served many years as a volunteer for Oak Grove's Life Enrichment Services. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Teresa and Garry ... of Woodstock, Georgia, Marianne and Lee ... of Roswell, Georgia; grandsons Brandon and Cameron ...; his son and daughter-in-law Jon ... and Linda ...; niece Mary ...; niece, Patty ...; and nephew, Russell L. ..., III. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
