Mr. Edward Earl Card, Sr., 86, a longtime resident of Aberdeen, MS who had recently moved to Belk, AL., passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Druid City Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. His funeral service will be held Friday, November 9 at 2:00 P.M. from Cooksville United Methodist Church near Macon, MS. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS. Anyone wishing to send memorials may send them to the American Cancer Society % Rebecca Hunter 209 N. West Street Macon, MS 39341.

Mr. Card was a native of Noxubee Co., MS. and was the son of the late William Bill and Eura Mae Smith Card. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked with the Noxubee County Board of Supervisors for 14 years and from 1972 until 1990 was employed with the Mississippi State University Agricultural Experiment Station. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Fayette, AL. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and visiting with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Card was predeceased by one sister: Mildred Misso as well as three brothers: Otis, Raymond, and Delano Card.

Mr. Card is survived by his wife: Lois W. Card of Belk, AL. as well as two daughters: Angela Plyman (James) and Katherine Knight (Tim) , both of Fayette, AL. and one son : Edward Card, Jr. (Sherry) of West Point, MS. He is also survived by three sisters: Eloise Goss of Macon, Lois Moore of Huntsville AL. and Mary Kate Bell of Crystal Springs, MS. as well as by two brothers: Delbert Card and Tommy Card, both of Macon, MS. Also left to mourn his passing are 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
