Walter L. Frank, 91, a 75-year resident of Olympia, died at natural causes Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center, Olympia.

He was born May 9, 1906, in Alba, Mich., to Frederick and Estella (Crawford) Frank.

He attended Cosmopolis High School, Cosmopolis.

He married Marguerite DeFord on July 5, 1977, in Olympia. He had previously married Louise Kaiser on Nov. 22, 1924, in Olympia.

Mr. Frank worked in his early years as a milkman for Kaiser Guernsey Dairy. He later worked for the Washington Dept. of Highways until his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, baseball and woodworking.

Mr. Frank is survived by his wife, Marguerite, Olympia; two daughters, Beverly Russell, Olympia, and Betty Casebolt, Concord, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Marguerite Holcomb, Olympia; two stepsons, Stewart DeFord, Dexter, Ore., and Eugene DeFord, Port Gamble; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in Mills & Mills Funeral Chapel, Olympia. Interment will follow in Masonic Memorial Park, Tumwater.
