Rachel W. Colson, 97, of West Point, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Colson was born September 13, 1911, in Rock Mills, AL, daughter of the late John White and Martha Ann Brand White. She had lived in LaGrange all her life and was a member of Oakside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Colson was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Colson, two sons, Earl Colson and Ray Colson, granddaughter, Melody Woodruff, grandson, Richard Colson, and a great-grandson, Jason Williams.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia and Emmett Head of West Point, and Marie Nixon of West Point; one son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Betty Colson of LaGrange; sixteen grandchildren, Sherry Fausett, Mitch Colson, Jeff Colson, Kay Cagle, Sue Nixon, Pam May, Connie McClung, James Marsh, Debbie Gorman, Kenneth Colson, Dawne Colson, Nikki Colson, Adarius Colson, Lynn Weeks, Steve Colson, Barbara McNeilus, and Jimmy Oliver; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 17, 2008, at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel.

Burial will follow in Hillview East Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Emmett Head and will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
