Funeral services for William Andrew Whitaker, 77, of the Vann Town community near here, were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. J. E. Whitt and R. H. Berry officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Whitaker, a retired farmer, died Thursday night at his home following a long illness. He was a native of Lincoln County and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Emmy Rees Whitaker; four daughters, Mrs. Allene Wall of Ruston, La., Mrs. Billy Shipley of Oak Grove, La., Mrs. Iva Mae Posey of Fort Worth, Texas, and Miss Lorene Whitaker of Lincoln County; four sons, B. A. Whitaker of Phoenix, Ariz., V. H. of San Andreas, Calif., and John L. and O. L. of Lincoln County; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
