He married Mary Belle Crum November 16, 1919. He farmed until 1934 and then worked as a city maintenance worker before becoming ill in December 1943. He subsequently died July 27, 1944.
Surviving were his wife, Mary Bell Crum Gregory; two sons, Lewis E. Gregory (MaryLucille Edgeworth Gregory) of Houston and J. L. Gregory (Joyce Marie Martin Gregory) of the US Navy, stationed at Corpus Christi; three daughters; Missess Barbara Ann, Wanda Sue and Dorothy Gregory, all of Palestine.
Pallbearers: Thomas Crum, Isaac Crum, Raymond Crum, Chester Crum, Johnnie Crum and Buford Andrews.
