Brother of Arman & Thomas Day. He married Olive Jean Hilligoss on April 19, 1947 in Flora, IL. They had two daughters:

ATWOOD -- James Day, 76, of Atwood died at 4:15 a.m. Monday (Nov. 23, 1998) at his residence.

Private family graveside services will be Wednesday at the Tuscola Cemetery. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Day was born Oct. 15, 1922 in Findlay, the son of Allen and Nellie Conner Day. He married Olive Jean Hilligoss in 1947; she survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Teresa Ard of Tuscola and Olivia Wills of Charleston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Day of Effingham; and two sisters, Virginia DuVall of Fountain, Colo., and Alice Jargon of Beckemeyer.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Day was a self-employed plumber. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
