From his obituary Auburn Citizen-Advertiser June 16, 1952:
"Born in Aurelius, he had been a farmer in that vicinity all his life. He was a member of Auburn Lodge IOOF and a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church...
Two sons, Richard and William, lost their lives by drowning in the Adirondacks in November of 1949 while on a hunting trip."
