Life Legacy

Mr. Hilliard Adamson Jackson, age 88 of Bennett Circle, Carrollton died Thursday, January 20, 2011.

Mr. Jackson was born in Carroll County on October 30, 1922, the son of the late Edward Tolbert Jackson and Clarice Adamson Jackson.

He was a dairyman before going to work at Lockheed where he worked for 30 years. He was a supervisor on the C-130 airplane. Mr. Jackson was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Adult Friendship Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Harris Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Glenda Jackson, daughter-in-law, Diane Jackson, all of Carrollton; grandchildren, Matt and Kim Jackson of Dalton, Shea and Andrew St. John of Carrollton, Tee Jackson of Carrollton; great-grandchildren, Harris Jackson, Cole Fendley, Duncan St. John; sister Jo Davis of Tyrone, and brother Smokey Adamson of Wollford, Texas. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Jackson and brother, Robert Jackson.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11 am at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Milford and Dr. Jimmy Thurman officiating. Music will be furnished by Mark Witham and Betty Sue Smith.

The family will received friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 pm.

Pallbearers include, Matt Jackson, Tee Jackson, Andrew St. John, Roy Ayers, Ralph Ayers, Walter Dean Duke, Alan Windom and Bill Jackson. The Adult Friendship Sunday School will form an honorary escort.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Carrollton First United Methodist Church, 206 Newnan Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.

Interment will follow at Carroll Memory Gardens.
