On 13 Nov 1843 in Orphans Court the Judge ordered William H Jones Adm. to be given letters of Administration, also on that day another order to set "heir petition" for "Alexander Barfield Dec'd" was recorded, and on 30 Dec 1843 the "estate of Alexander Barfield as appraised" in Lowndes Co, Ala. William H Jones presented before the court a list of "heirs of Alexander Barfield dec'd" on 8 Aug 1846. Listed was "Sarah Ann Barfield Widow and relict of Decedent, Samuel Barfield, John Barfield, Charity Ann Barfield and one who has died since the death of its Father name not recollected...Wm H Jones"
