Obituary
Frank J. Clare
Frank J. Clare, 89, a resident of Isabella county for the past 69 years, died January 8, 1949, at the home of his son, George Clare, 809 North Kinney. Mr. Clare had made his home with his son for the past five years. The pioneer resident, was born March 24, 1859, in Gettsville, New York. He came to Michigan in 1880 settling in Isabella county. On February 14, 1882, he was married to Angeline Mang who preceded him in death on June 7, 1916. Ten children were born to this union, eight of whom survive. On December 12, 1921, he was united in marriage to Mary Lackie who died January 11, 1944. He is survived by his children: Laura McCully of Owosso, Charles of Mount Pleasant; Maggie Machuta of Flint; Winfield and George of Mount Pleasant; Lawrence of Saginaw; Mrs. Ethel Brundage of Elwell and Arthur of Detroit. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Bowman, Louise Campbell, Julia Gallagher and Nellie Searls of Mount Pleasant; three brothers, Joe, Pete and Will of Mount Pleasant. Rosary service is to be held tonight, January 10 from the Rush Funeral home at 8 P.M. with solemn requiem high mass at 10 A.M. Tuesday from the Sacred Heart church. Burial will be in Calvary with J. J. Rush in charge of arrangements.
