GOREVILLE - Jane B. Chartier, 82, passed away peacefully at 2:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at her home with family by her side
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in Cana Cemetery in Goreville, with Dr. Ron Ferguson officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Jane was born Friday, Feb. 22, 1930, in McNairy County, Tenn., to Hiram and Ethel (Walton) Breedlove.
She married John Chartier in Phoenix, Ariz. He preceded her in death Friday, Feb. 28, 1969.
Jane is survived by her children, Sherida and John Doyle of Peru, Ind., Sylvia and Greg Gwinn of Chariton, Iowa, and Mike and Rhonda Chartier of Goreville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Chartier was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and five siblings.
She loved sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking. Jane never knew a stranger and will be missed by all.
