Leonard E. Addison, age 87, of Clifton, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at
Faith Place in Danforth. He was born on November 18, 1927 in Clifton, the son of
Walter H. and Ethel A. (nee Rieken) Addison. He married the former Anita M.
Toune on September 30, 1950 at St. Peters Church in Clifton and she survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Nancy Addison of Bourbonnais, Judy (Daniel) Street
of E. Peoria and Julie (Jeff) Anderson of Bourbonnais; a son, Len Addison of
Clifton; four grandchildren, Lisa (T.J.) Harrington of Aurora, Lindsay (Troy)
Endress of Washington, IL, David Addison of Joliet and Kayla Addison of
Bourbonnais; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was
also preceded in death by one son, Joseph.

Following his service with the U.S. Navy in World War II, he came home and
played Minor League baseball in the Class D “Kitty’ (Kentucky, Indiana and
Tennessee) League and garnered tryouts with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago
Cubs. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed being with
friends and family.

Len joined the Illinois State Trooper on June 15, 1958 and retired on December
31, 1989 with 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic
Church, the F.O.P., the Clifton American Legion and VFW Post 2131. He enjoyed
golfing, woodworking, and was an avid baseball fan.

Funeral services for Mr. Addison will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7,
2015 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton, the Rev. Vern Arseneau will
officiate. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the
Funeral Home in Clifton. Burial will be in the Ashkum Catholic Cemetery.
