Sweet woman with an attitude. Known as Granny Bart.

She was born and raised in Trion, Chattooga County, Georgia. Her mother died when she was a baby (or born). All she knew about her mother was that her name was either Lulu or Lula. Her father moved her in with family to raise her. Possibly 2 or 3 aunts who were deaf, dumb & blind. But she was loved. She moved in with the Abercrombie family and married their son Howard Young Abercrombie. He was a coal miner and died in a mine when their son was a baby. Less than 2 years later, she married Alonzo Francis Barton in Fannin County, Georgia. He was 25 years older than her. They had 4 children together.

When she got older, she would stay with each of her children for lengths of time. While staying with her son, she fell and broke her hip. She didn't recover completely from it. At some time later, her sons made the decision to move her into Blue Ridge Nursing Home. She lived there for about 10 years until her death.

She is buried in Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery next to her first husband. His parents, her second husband, her sons and several family members of each of her husbands.

She was a very special woman who still lives in her descendants, especially her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughters.
